Announcing Integrations with Google Classroom

CompuScholar is pleased to announce support for Google Classroom! This free integration provides a variety of useful features for teachers who want students to access CompuScholar materials, assignments, and grades through Google Classroom.

Beta Status

Our Google Classroom integration is available for licensed public/private school teachers to use in BETA for the remainder of the 2024-2025 SY. This means we may add or tweak features or UI screens rapidly during the BETA phase based on your feedback. Our support for Google Classroom will move into production release in the Fall of 2025.

Please try it now and send us your feedback! Help us make it work with the features you want to see!

Main Features

Announcing Integrations with Google ClassroomThere are 4 main advantages to setting up a Google Classroom integration. These advantages assume you are already using Google Classroom and want to integrate your students' CompuScholar experience into that system.

  • Automatic Rostering - Your existing roster of students in Google Classroom class can be automatically synced into a CompuScholar class.
  • Single Sign-On - Your students can log into Google Classroom with their Google accounts and click on CompuScholar links to access our system.
  • Publish Assignments - CompuScholar quizzes, tests, and assignments can be published to your Google Classroom class for one-click student access.
  • Grade Sync - Grades accumulated in your CompuScholar grade book can be synced with your Google Classroom grade book.

Linked Courses

Google Classroom is not, by itself, a fully-featured Learning Management System (LMS). Therefore, you'll still rely on creating classes in CompuScholar's system to host materials, interactive features, student accounts, and grades. Each CompuScholar class can be linked to a corresponding Google Classroom class, and student in that Google class will have automated access to their CompuScholar work.

Google Accounts and Data

Our Privacy Policy has been updated to describe how we use Google Account data. In short, we use students’ names and Google account IDs to set up matching CompuScholar accounts during rostering. We never share that info anywhere else.

Integrations with Google Classroom rely on permissions (scopes) granted by individual Google users - both students and teachers - to CompuScholar. The first time a student clicks on a CompuScholar link from within Google Classroom, they will be prompted to approve all required permissions. Similarly, teachers will be prompted to approve permissions when they connect their Google classroom account to CompuScholar.
