What's New for the 2025-2026 SY

What's New for the 2025-2026 SY

The new school year brings fresh faces, excitement, and new things to explore. CompuScholar has several new system features and course updates for 2025. Let's explore each new feature!

New Report Dashboard

CompuScholar has always provided real-time reporting and analytics through the "Report Dashboard" link on the Teacher Menu. In previous years, that reporting was provided by a 3rd party module integrated into our system. Over time, that module has grown more complex, slower, and less able to meet the needs of CompuScholar teachers. This year, we've replaced the reporting completely with a new feature developed entirely in-house. The new reporting engine is fast, simple, and provides frequently requested information and analytics. Look for a full webinar and blog post dedicated to the new reporting feature in the coming months.

LTI 1.3 Support

What's New for the 2025-2026 SYSchools integrating CompuScholar's course material into their own Canvas, Schoology, and similar Learning Management Systems (LMS) use LTI as the protocol to communicate between our systems. LTI 1.0 remains a viable option supported by a wide range of LMS. CompuScholar now also supports LTI 1.3 as an option for those systems (like Canvas) able to take advantage of it.

The main advantage to LTI 1.3 is the new Assignment and Grade Service, which allows us to send notifications back to teachers when turned-in assignments need manual grading. If you use Canvas, Buzz, or another LMS that fully supports LTI 1.3, consider switching to the new protocol in the upcoming school year to access this new feature. For configuration details, please see our Integrations page.

New Course Cartridges

If you are using any 3rd party LMS (Canvas, Schoology, etc.), consider updating your course materials to our 2025 editions. We have all new cartridges for integration, and those cartridges include, where relevant:

  • Major lesson additions and updates
  • Updated quiz/test questions and answers

To request new cartridge(s) for integration, please Contact Us or your assigned CompuScholar CSR.

Google Classroom Integrations

CompuScholar now supports Google Classroom integrations! This feature was introduced as a beta in Spring 2025 and is now generally available for production use. Your CompuScholar grades and materials can be synced from our system to a matching section in Google Classroom. Similarly, your student roster from a Google Classroom section can be synced to CompuScholar's system for Single-Sign-on (SSO). For details, please visit the new Google Classroom page on our website.

AP Course Audit Guidance

It's important for AP CSP and AP CSA teachers to complete the Course Audit with the College Board. Part of this process is identifying the Textbook and Endorsed Provider Syllabus you are using in your classroom. If you are a new AP teacher, simply complete the Course Audit as described in our AP Professional Development materials. You will select CompuScholar for both your Textbook and Endorsed Provider Syllabus.

If you are an AP teacher with a previously approved Course Audit using a different textbook or a different syllabus, correcting those details is important both to the College Board and to CompuScholar. After extensive conversations with the College Board, we understand the only way to update an existing audit is to delete that course audit completely and start over. This may sound scary, but it's just as quick and easy as setting up a new audit as a new teacher. Deleting your existing audit may impact your AP Classroom access, existing sections, and student enrollments (the College Board is a little fuzzy on this). Therefore, we recommend correcting your course audit before school starts or before you need AP Classroom access.

Course Updates

The following courses have gained significant updates or materials for the upcoming year:

  • Java Programming - This course has been updated to match the new AP CSA Course and Exam Description (CED). It has been reviewed and re-endorsed by the College Board, so you can complete the Course Audit with confidence.
  • Unity Game Programming - This course is being updated to match the latest version of the Unity IDE. It should be ready near August 1st. Stay tuned for more announcements!
  • Tech Essentials - We have added several optional / supplemental chapters at the end of this course. The new materials will help meet a variety of state standards (Florida in particular), and teachers in all states can make use of the new materials as they see fit.
  • Other courses - As usual, we check and tweak all courses as needed to keep up with technology advancements, changes to 3rd party software and websites, etc.

We love your suggestions! Many of the things we do are a direct result of teacher requests. If you'd like to see something new in either our online system or a specific course, please Contact Us to start that conversation.
