Tech Essentials Quiz Updates

Chapters 6 and 7 in the 2025 edition of our Tech Essentials course accidentally contained some quiz questions drawn from a different course. Those questions were not supported by the Tech Essentials course materials, and as a result, students would have difficulty answering correctly. Our apologies for the error! Due to the nature of the issue, we opted to immediately fix all known issues with these questions in our system. These fixes were implemented on 9/23/2025. Please review this bulletin carefully to understand the impact on your classrooms.

COURSES HOSTED AT learning.compuscholar.com

If your classrooms are hosted at learning.compuscholar.com, then all courses have been updated as described below. If your students have not yet reached Chapters 6 and 7, then no action is needed. Simply continue as usual, and your students should be able to complete the modified chapters without difficulty.

If your students have already completed quizzes in Chapters 6 and 7, the student grades have not been changed, but the underlying questions have changed. At the teacher's discretion, you may ask them to revisit the impacted lessons listed below and retake those quizzes.

COURSES HOSTED IN CANVAS, SCHOOLOGY, OR OTHER DISTRICT LMS

If your classrooms are hosted in a district Canvas, Schoology, or similar LMS, then quiz questions were imported into your system as part of the integration. Updates to quiz questions in CompuScholar's system are not automatically reflected in a district LMS. The teacher has full control over quiz questions in their LMS and may, at their discretion, manually update the impacted questions listed below. Teachers may then ask students to revisit the impacted lessons listed below and retake those quizzes.

To access the new questions and answers, teachers may click on the associated "Quiz Answer Key" link in their LMS, which leads to updated PDFs with the current quiz contents.

IMPACTED QUESTIONS AND COURSE MATERIALS

In some cases, we opted to add minor Lesson Text materials to support the quiz questions as-is. No changes were made to questions in that case, and all students in all systems (including Canvas and Schoology) automatically have access to the updated Lesson Text pages. Students may reread the Lesson Text pages and retake the quizzes at the teacher's discretion.

In other cases, we replaced the quiz questions entirely with new questions focused on the existing course materials. No changes were made to the Lesson Text pages, though students may wish to review those materials if they are taking the associated quiz.
