We are pleased to announce several new course updates, features, state adoptions, and other changes of interest. We hope you're as excited about the 2026-2027 SY as we are!
New State Adoptions
CompuScholar regularly participates in state-wide Instructional Materials Review and Adoptions, and we are pleased to announce recent approvals in three states:
- Florida - Coding Fundamentals, Digital Information Technology, Foundaitons of Web Deisgn, Game & Simulation Foundations
- South Carolina - AP CS Principles, AP CS A
- Indiana - Computing Foundations for a Digital Age

New Paste Configuration Setting
Our online coding assignments feature text panels where students can type code into their source files. Whether or not students are allowed to paste code into these panels is a system-wide configuration per assignment, and we have chosen a default paste-allowed setting for each assignment.
However, teachers may want to override our default copy/paste setting to explicitly allow or disallow copy/paste for a variety of reasons. This is now possible with a new configuration setting! From within the online activity, click on the Configuration button near the top, and look for the "Copy/Paste in Coding Problems" combo box.
To continue using our default setting, leave the choice blank. To override the default setting and explicitly allow or disallow pasting into the code panel, select one of the other options. Remember, this is a per-assignment setting, so you can make different choices on different assignments.
New Course Cartridges
If you are using any 3rd party LMS (Canvas, Schoology, etc.), consider updating your course materials to our 2026 editions. We have all new cartridges for integration, and those cartridges include, where relevant:
- Major lesson additions and updates
- Updated quiz/test questions and answers

AP Course Audit Guidance
It's important for AP CSP and AP CSA teachers to complete the Course Audit with the College Board. Part of this process is identifying the Textbook and Endorsed Provider Syllabus you are using in your classroom. If you are a new AP teacher, simply complete the Course Audit as described in our AP Professional Development materials. You will select CompuScholar for both your Textbook and Endorsed Provider Syllabus.
If you are an AP teacher with a previously approved Course Audit using a different textbook or a different syllabus, correcting those details is important both to the College Board and to CompuScholar. After extensive conversations with the College Board, we understand the only way to update an existing audit is to delete that course audit completely and start over. This may sound scary, but it's just as quick and easy as setting up a new audit as a new teacher. Deleting your existing audit may impact your AP Classroom access, existing sections, and student enrollments (the College Board is a little fuzzy on this). Therefore, we recommend correcting your course audit before school starts or before you need AP Classroom access.
Course Updates
The following courses have gained significant updates or materials for the upcoming year:
- Python Programming - This course has been completely rewritten and extended to 2 full semesters. It is now aligned with many state standards and has direct support for PCEP exam preparation. For details, please see this announcement.
- Web Design - This course has been completely rewritten and now features all-new projects using an online IDE, with automatic grading. For details, please see this announcement.
- Digital Savvy - This course has gained several supplemental chapters and lessons to better align with various state standards, introduce AI concepts, and support additional coding topics.
- Computer Science Foundations - This course has gained several supplemental chapters and lessons to better align with various state standards and introduce AI concepts.
